Journey Overview

Discover the magic of Weekend to Harar with our carefully crafted itinerary designed to provide an unforgettable experience.

Weekend to Harar

Harar, often referred to as the "Holy City" or the "City of Saints," is a historic destination in eastern Ethiopia. It is celebrated for its narrow streets, traditional stone houses, ancient mosques, and vibrant cultural atmosphere.

A fortified wall built in the 16th century to defend against invasions encircles the city. Inside these walls, visitors can explore a maze of bustling alleyways, colorful markets, and a captivating ambiance that evokes a sense of history. One unique tradition here involves feeding hyenas, adding to the city's charm.

Harar is also renowned for its strong Islamic heritage, featuring over 80 mosques, including the prominent Grand Mosque of Jami. Additionally, it is home to historic sites such as the former residence of the famous poet Arthur Rimbaud.
